“Does it still hurt, Daddy?”
James was sitting in the pasture with Reagan, Lexi, and Lexi’s pony, Leo. He had a distant look on his face. He hadn’t had time to reflect on the past 2 and a half months since Bucky was euthanized.
“Yeah. You don’t heal from these things easily, Lex.”
“But at least you have new friends, right?”
James thought about it. “Yeah, I guess I do. And-” He smiled at his daughter. “-they’re cool and all, but I’m glad that I still have my three best friends. Reagan, your mom… and you.”
He gave Lexi a kiss on the forehead, and then they both sat there in silence. James was trying to think about the good times he had with Bucky. He tried to hold in his tears, but it was hard. Lexi was just trying not to think at all, out of fear that she would burst into sobbing and spook the dozing equines.
After about 5 minutes, Leo got up, walked in front of James, and buried his head in the rancher’s chest. Lexi smiled through the tears. “That’s my boy.”
“Yeah. Hey, Lex? I think it’s bedtime. Make sure to put Leo up in his pasture before you go inside.”
“Okay. Love you, Dad!” Lexi stood up and pulled on Leo’s lead rope. “Come on, buddy! Let’s get you home.”
Leo stood up, and the two walked off. James put his arms around Reagan, who was laying her head on Bucky’s grave, and kissed the star on her head. “It’s going to get better. No matter what, I promise it will get better.”

Max Hopper looked at Axis with a curious look in his eyes. “So, guy… what’s the plan?”
“What do you mean?”
“You know, for the Moonstone. The thing you’re gonna win at Fatal.”
Axis shrugged. “Obviously the Parallel Championships, unless one of you drops a title that night.”
“And what makes you think that will happen?”
“I mean, Murder Ninja is a legitimate competitor. And unlike your cash-in, Aiden will be expecting you, and now you don’t have your teleporta-”
“Chill out, guy. I can promise you, I have what it takes. And CruZe should have an easy dub as well.” His words brought a smile to Axis’s face.
“I was mentioned?” CruZe walked into the room. “Axis, I hear you have a Moonstone match coming up! What’s the plan if you win?”
Axis looked at the Eternal champion with a smirk. “What do you think? Project Gemini is going after the Parallel titles.”

Two weeks ago, in the middle of Lake Michigan, CruZe and I showed the world why we deserve a shot at the Parallel Championships. We showed the world why we deserve a spot on every single promotional poster for WrestleVerse. We showed the world why the XBI is the greatest stable in the company right now.
Only, we didn't get the shot. No, it was given to a kangaroo and a nudist in body paint, neither of which have ever appeared on a WretleVerse PPV card!
It's becoming clear that to get the universe's most prestigious tag titles, we must take matters into our own hands. That's why winning the Moonstone is so important. With it, a person can win almost any title with ease, provided the cash-in is planned and timed precisely to the second.
Winning the Moonstone will be no easy task. It will mean getting a catman to chase a preverbal red laser. It will mean getting revenge on the man who denied me a shot last time. And it will mean taking down one of the most experienced men in pro wrestling, among other things.
But I will crush them. And there will be a moment on Saturday when all the corners have been touched and the other wrestlers are in the air, and I will claim my prize and look towards the future... one where the XBI holds all the gold.
